If it's not a maxed r10 mod you are stuck sitting in trade chat for the whole day spamming the same thing over and over again which I don't find fun. So when someone tells me they pay 80p for hornet/serration I just can't be bothered to even respond. you are not very likely to get enough serrations/hornet strikes to max the mod even if you played for 5 years straight. While I can understand vitality/redirect being cheaper then their core cost due to high drop chance on both(uses 100% energy if its duplicate and a lot cheaper in credits), serration and hornet on the other hand. These are a unique class of Mods (6 at most) that can increase bonuses when one or more mods in a set are equipped on the player’s Warframe and weapons. Each Corrupted Mod has an equal chance to drop. Once again people want mods for less then it costs to make them in cores alone. These are dual stat mods where one gives positive stat bonus and the other negative stat bonus. unless its r10 mod don't bother wont make any extra money for them, maxed r10 mods will at least get you a fair price if you ignore people that want maxed heavy cal for 200p. Try selling them for more then 10 and nobody wants to buy, you'll just hear an endless "but on WFT it's this" or everyone sells it for that. I'd rather throw those narrowminded, fleeting, overextended, heavy cal into incinerator or use them fusion fodder then sell them for 5p. and since number of people with lack of common sense and spare corrupted mods dwindles. the old good corrupted mods are about as requested as soma/nova.
